Hello, I'm Soline...
… a French woman who has been living in Munich for ten years. I’ve always loved creating with my hands: painting, sewing, knitting, weaving.
In 2022 I discovered pottery. A friend invited me to a wheel-throwing class, and it was a true revelation. I was so hooked after the very first session that I borrowed her wheel, set it up in my bathroom, and began teaching myself by experimenting and watching YouTube videos.
Since 2023, I have been sharing a studio with other potters a few hours a week, and I started to sell my creations about 2 years later, when I created my ceramic brand, Solei.
The name of my brand, Solei, captures my world:
Sol comes from the first three letters of my name, Soline. It also refers to the French word sol meaning ground or soil, the earth I shape in my work, and to the Spanish word sol meaning sun, whose light reveals the vibrant colors I love.
E stands for Entourage: my family, my friends, my husband, and my pets, whose love and energy support me and inspire me every day.
I stands for Inspiration: my love of art, craft, and creativity, which nourishes everything I do.
Together these letters form Solei, a nod to my French roots, since solei echoes soleil, the French word for sun. For me it is a light that shines gently, like the colors of golden hour, radiating warmth, generosity, and calm, just like my work and just like me.
